February means ski fever in Switzerland and the snow has been good this winter. A girls trip to the mountains was calling and my friend Mallory kindly invited us to her home in Andermatt for a few days.
Located in the canton of Uri in the high Alpine valley of Urseren, this ski resort is only a 1.5 hour drive south of Zurich (a 2-hour train ride from Zurich Main Station) with one of the best locations for snow. Plenty of slopes with varying terrain and plans of massive expansion makes Andermatt a great getaway whether you’re an expert skier or just want to go for a winter hike. Check here for more info on winter in Andermatt.
Getting off the gondola at Gemsstock and ready for our first run down. These slopes were made for skiing! 🙂
After a long day on the slopes, have a drink at the beautiful Chedi Hotel! Since this is currently Switzerland’s most expensive hotel, we thought having a drink would be a fun way to check out the property without having to shell out the big bucks for a room 🙂
